About Ryan

Hi. I’m Ryan Nute. Thanks for visiting my website. Here’s a little about me.ryan c nute attorney at law

I grew up in the Seattle area. I went to college and law school at the University of Washington. Outside of work, I keep busy spending time with my wife and our two sons and enjoy playing the cello and bicycling when I can.

I’m an “Eagle” member of the Washington State Association for Justice (formerly Washington State Trial Lawyers’ Association) and a member of the Oregon Trial Lawyers’ Association and the American Association for Justice.

From 2002-2015 I was an attorney with a top-rated personal injury law firm in Seattle, where I litigated and tried cases to judges and juries in state and federal courts (and was nominated several times as a “Rising Star” by Washington Law & Politics (2.5% of attorneys)). I learned a lot and enjoyed my experience there, but the time was right to start my own firm in 2016.

FLASHBACK

When I was in junior high and high school I was a paperboy and had several routes (over 100 customers). I learned a lot from that job. (And eventually was a Seattle Post-Intelligencer “Carrier of the Year”.) Four things in particular: (1) doing a consistently good job every day, 365 days a year; (2) taking care of every customer; (3) getting more customers; and (4) getting results (I bought the papers from the P-I and got paid by collecting).

LESSONS LEARNED

These lessons translate into how I approach my law practice. It’s a client-centered, customer-service business. I want to do a good job for every client, every time. I want my clients to refer other clients. And I do what it takes to get results for my clients (because that’s how I get paid).

Client-Driven Approach

Some attorneys do a lot of marketing to get clients (TV, the Web, radio, etc.). I’m not above a little marketing, but it’s not how most of my clients find me. Most of my clients come from client and attorney referrals.

I’ve had a lot of clients who came to me after having an unsatisfactory experience with another attorney or law firm. Often I hear things like “I could never talk with the attorney” or “the attorney didn’t explain things to me”. I hope my clients don’t feel that way.

It’s hard to get in touch directly with some attorneys. You call and have to talk to an assistant or have them write down a message. That’s not my style. Call or email anytime. You’ll either get me directly or I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

It’s very important to me that my clients understand what’s going to happen in their case and why. I’ll do my best to explain what the law is and how it applies to your case.

If you’re looking for help or just have questions, please email or call me. Thanks

Referral / Association

This section is for the attorneys out there. A personal injury case came in the door and it’s not up your alley (or you just don’t have the time to work on it). It’s a plaintiff case and you do defense. You have a case that’s going into litigation and you’d like some assistance. You’re from out of state or a Washington attorney with an Oregon case. I’m available for referral or association.
